killerabsandhappythoughts:

I want to try this you guys, please reblog :)

This is my dad. He’s ill with Lou Gherig’s disease or ALS. All the muscle in his body is slowly dying. At the moment he can’t move or speak. He probably won’t make it until Christmas. His mind is still sane ,so he’s trapped inside his own body.

Because ALS isn’t really a famous disease, not much research is done for it. That’s why it’s his goal to make his disease as well-known as possible. He’s been in several tv and magazine campaigns, and I thought to help my daddy a little :)

So please reblog and let everyone know this horrible disease exists! He would be really happy about it :)

So here is another post that was supposed to happen but never did.  On December 10th, I had the opportunity to see the Class LL Football Championships at Rentschler Field over in East Hartford.  Xavier High School vs. Trumbull High School.  Final Score: Xavier (24) - Trumbull (13)

Extremely Late but…Finished on an Excellent Note with UPS :(

This has been sitting in my drafts since the end of December.  Guess I haven’t been on Tumblr in ages.  Enjoy!

So Friday December 24th was officially my last day with UPS.  I didn’t want it to end.  Thats how sad I was that this job is over.  Working with the company these past six weeks has been the greatest experience of my life.  Who knew that I would be working for a company that delivers over 16,000 packages per minute.  Looking back on these past six weeks, if there were words to describe this job…BEST JOB EVER!!  My official first day started on November 19th.  I started working with my supervisor Mike who taught me how to use the DIAD and also how to exit and enter the truck safely (you would think it would be easy…try doing it in the pouring rain).  After the safety lesson, we delivered to a bunch of apartments in Newington for about 2 hours and then we were finished.  The following Monday I started work with my driver named Darren.  We delivered to the Highcrest Area and part of the Webb Area.  I have to say getting to work with Darren was awesome.  I learned a lot about him such as he has been working for the company for 20 years and loves all of the Pixar movies.  Unfortunately I only worked with him for 2 weeks so I didn’t get to learn more about him.  For the remainder of the season, I started working with a guy named Mo.  Mo has been working with UPS for 12 years and is a really funny guy.  He likes to play jokes on people but at the same time is really friendly.  It was really great getting to work with him.  As for the route we covered, we delivered to all the business on Silas Deane Highway (south of Maple Street).  Let me just say a business route is 10 times more difficult.  2 reasons, you have to get signatures for everything and some business have more than one package.  For example, we delivered to Edible Arrangements the other day and they had 45 packages and they weren’t small boxes.  I won’t complain though, I liked the fast paced environment.  It kept me active.  In the end I am glad I applied for this job.  It taught me a lot of new things and at the same time, I met some awesome people.  Thanks UPS for everything! :)
